WA Volleyball League is the premier volleyball competition in Western Australia and is run by Volleyball WA. Clubs from across the state enter teams in a wide range of divisions from State League through to Divisions, giving athletes at all levels the chance to grow their skills and compete against other clubs.
Our training usually begins in February or March, with the season kicking off in early April. This early start helps players settle in, build connections and find their rhythm as a team. Most teams train once or twice a week and play one official game each week. With the season wrapping up around August/September, players enjoy roughly 30 weeks of training and about 23 weeks of games.

Trainings are held at various venues around Perth. Locations may change year to year, but common training venues include Balcatta Senior High School, Hale School, and Perth College.
WAVL games take place at various venues across Perth. Common locations include Loftus Recreation Centre, Warwick Stadium, Cockburn ARC, and The RISE. Depending on the team’s location, matches may also be held at other sites such as Aquinas College, Penrhos College, or university and high school sports centres. Some junior matches are played at secondary school gyms or specific venues like Mandurah Baptist College.
Players of all ages and skill level can particiapte. Players are placed in teams based on their skills, suitability, and the level at which they can safely participate.

Players should wear appropriate sportswear, bring suitable shoes for indoor courts, a water bottle, and any personal equipment such as knee pads if desired.

Registration for WAVL typically occurs through trials. Players who are successful at trials will be offered a place in a team. Follow our socials to stay up to date with trial registration.
