First set we went strong, we had a good advantage but unfortunately we lost our focus at the end and lost the set. Second set we still had the bad feeling for loosing the first set so we start a bit slow but get confidence during the set and finish with a good 6 point in front. We had to keep the same enthusiasm for the 3rd set to make sure SX wasn't getting any stronger and we did, a good 25x13 to ensure our position on court. Last set we were running out of time again and we couldn't finish the 4th set. It was a really hard work, everyone played their best.

Everyone deserves to be the player of the week but today Chelsea had a strong service and good settings with wisely choices, today our Capitan was above the expectations.

Division Two Men (1-3) lost to Southern Cross 0 sets to 3

Drop to 9th spot

Division Two Women (2-2)  defeated United 3 sets to 1

Move up to 5th spot

We really wanted to get our money's worth with a full 2 hour game time on this match as we gave away far too many points on service errors and silly mistakes. However, some excellent serving by Caitlin and Bella kept us in the match at crucial points and we came away with the win. A POTW nomination for Caitlin Northmore who in the first set served from 18-22 down to win the match 25-22. Fantastic to see such composure at the service line.

Division Three Men (1-3) lost to Southern Cross in 3 sets

Stay in 9th spot
We played against a team that was in div 2 and went down to div 3 in grading season.
We improved our pass and serve but when two players from the SC team went to stronger serve they managed to open a good difference in points we were not able to finish some attacks.
However, we played well against “Southern Cross Div 2”.

Division Three Women (1-3) lost to Southern Cross1 set to 3

Stay in 6th spot

Division Four Men (3-1) lost to Southern Cross in 3 sets

Drop to 3rd Spot

Division Four Women (3-0) defeated ECU Blue in 3 sets

Maintain top spot

Div 4 women vs ECU Blue won a convincing 3-0 match
They were convincing in the first set with a 25-14 win, but played a close second set coming back from a deficit to win 25-23, and finally in the last set the players kept the opponents to single digits with a very convincing 25-9 win.
Strong performances all around, with multiple people going on serve runs and scoring consecutive aces, literally only have good things to say.

One stand out performance was Kelsey Adamson, our middle blocker who kept pressure at the net whenever she was on, and it just felt like her level of play was elevated today, and she was very consistent. No one kept count but she scored over 10 aces over the whole game

Division Five Men (1-3) lost to Southern Cross in 3 sets

Drop to 7th spot

Division Six Men (0-3) lost to UWA 1 set to 3

Stay in 11th spot, bottom of the ladder :(

The boys took their first set of the season!! And remained in close catch-up in the other three. This season will be a slow burn for sure. They are getting more and more used to their positions but need to turn focus now to their control so some repetitive skills based drills are in order.

POTW in the team goes to Julian Tate who served many aces and adapted to feedback on court quickly.

POTW

Player of the Week.

In Div1 women everyone deserved to be the player of the week but today Chelsea put in an especially good effort with strong service and good settings with wisely choices, today our Capitan was above the expectations.

In Div4 women one stand out performance was Kelsey Adamson, our middle blocker who kept pressure at the net whenever she was on, and it just felt like her level of play was elevated today, and she was very consistent. No one kept count but she scored over 10 aces over the whole game

But player of the week goes to Julian Tate on Div6 mean who served many aces and adapted to feedback on the court quickly.
