Club On The Move

Volleyball is one of the world's most popular sports and millions of people regularly play the game - either for fun, socially or in competition.

If you would like to play competition volleyball in Perth, come and join the Balcatta Cats Volleyball Club.

Since joining the Perth Volleyball League (PVL) in 1995, the Cats have become one of the State's strongest clubs and now boasts more than 100 members with teams in all PVL grades.

In its short history, Balcatta has won six Super-league premierships and two State Championships.

In 2006 Balcatta dominated the PVL competition making the finals in all divisions entered, winning three premierships.

In 2007, the Cats eclipsed all expectations in the Mens Superleague division, winning the premiership with a new look, youthful team after many years of heartache chasing their prize.

New Players Welcome

The club caters for juniors through to seniors, men and women, beginners to elite players, and is affiliated with Volleyball WA, Volleyball Australia and the FIVB (Federation Internationale De Volleyball).

The Cats currently have some of the State's top volleyball players, leading coaches and referees with national accreditation.

Games and Training

PVL games are mostly played on Sundays at Loftus Recreation Centre in Leederville (games commence between 8:30am and 5pm). The club actively supports the country tournaments, but these events are optional. Each Balcatta team trains once a week on separate evenings at the Newman College Gymnasium in Tuscany Way, Churchlands or St Stephens School Gymnasium, Duncraig.

Training Times

During the season, training is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (one 2hr session per team) between the hours of 6:30pm and 10:30pm.

Social Events

Balcatta hosts several social and fundraising events during the year and all members are encouraged to attend these. Check out the club's website often for details.

How to Join The Cats

To play volleyball with the Balcatta Cats Volleyball Club, all you need to do is register and pay your fees to Volleyball WA (VWA) and Balcatta, buy a uniform and pay a game fee of $10 per week. The fees for 2010 follow:

Club Discount

Club fees are due before the first game of the season but to encourage early payments, players (senior and student memberships only) paying on or before the Club Registration Day, will receive a $20 discount.
