Season 2009 a Success

The Balcatta Volleyball Club capped off one of its best ever seasons winning five premierships in 2009. The Cats made seven grand finals, winning four on the day - the men’s Division 2 and 3 competitions, and women’s Division 3 and Division 4. As well, Balcatta Division 1 men won the Masters competition. It was also the first time Cats had a women's team in every grand final-an extraordinary feat!

Superleague Women

Coach Russell Hampton's Superleague women had a fantastic finals series, making their first grand final in some years but unfortunately losing to a classy UWA side 3-0 in front of a good crowd at Loftus Recreation Centre.

Superleague Men

The Superleague guys lost their rescheduled semi final in five sets to a spirited Perth Coastal team.

Division 1 Women

Coach Aaron Leung's girls lost a devastating 5 set match in the grand final.

Division 1 Men

Player/coach Marty Bertuleit lead his Master's team to their second Master's premiership as well as finishing third overall.

Coach Steve Petsos's team lost their preliminary final to Southern Cross.

Division 2 Women

Coach Mel Johnson's spirited girls put up a good fight to reach the grand final, but lost in 4 sets on the day.

Division 2 Men

A fantastic premiership win for the Division 2 boys, who played well all season. Congratulations to Romano and his boys!

Division 3 Women

Coach Mitchell Collins' girls played fantastically to win a premiership for the Club.

Coach Layne Van Smaalen's girls had good season, but were unable to secure a finals berth this year

Division 3 Men

An epic come-from-behind 5 set win to the Division 3 Men capped off an awesome Grant Final day for the Cats.

Division 4 Women

One of the Club's most promising teams, the Division 4 girls got up to win yet another premiership for the Cats!
